Extend your spring cleaning to your car

Have you started your spring cleaning yet? Mother Nature may still be deciding what season it is, but spring is definitely in the air. And if you’ve started preparing your home and yard for cleaning, then make sure to add your car as well. With the sun shining and spring peaking though now is the time to get rid of the winter residue caking your car and to make it sparkle again for the warm weather that’s coming. If you do decide to spruce up your car with a detail, here are a few tips on what to do before you bring it in:

  • Before you bring your car to get detailed, the first thing to do is declutter. This makes it easier for your detailer since they won’t have to clean around things. Empty the trunk, organize the passenger and back seats and even consider removing the car and booster seats so the underneath can be cleaned.

  • Tidy up the upholstery. Pet hair is one of the most difficult things to remove and even requires special attention from a detailer, special attention that will cost you more. So try to remove as much of it before you visit the detailer. Pet hair can be removed by spritzing the seats with warm water and then using a squeegee to pull the hair off. For clients who have pets, we always recommend investing in a pet hammock for your four-legged friends, or putting a sheet underneath your car seat to protect it.

  • Do a quick vacuum to get rid of crumbs (which can attract bugs), and use a can of compressed air and an old toothbrush to remove dirt and dust from the nooks and crannies. This is a great way to clean out your air vents and other hard-to-reach small spots that collect dirt.

  • To keep your car smelling fresh after a detail try putting dryer sheets under the front seats to absorb odour. All these tips are great when bringing your car to be detailed, but we know that sometimes life gets in the way and there is no time….hence the reason why you need a detail. Not to worry, we can do all this for you…call us today to book an appointment.
